PhilAgriNet Acquires Legal Personality

The Philippine Agricultural Information Services Network, Inc. (PhilAgriNet) was duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on July 21, 2010. With its legal personality, the network can now engage in more activities with facility and more efficiency. Documentation was prepared by Carmelita Austria of IRRI and Imelda Veluz of the UPLB Post Harvest Research and Training Center Library. The latter also liaised with SEC to ensure that every document meets accepted standards. Actual filing with the SEC, which involved queuing for long periods, was accomplished by Imelda Veluz and Andriette Valdez of the UPLB College of Forestry and Natural Resources Management. This registration needs to be renewed on a yearly basis.
